1996 Audi S2 Coupe
1996 Audi S2 Coupe
Now, here we have a very rare car that is one of those that quietly changed the world. When BMW were getting very giddy about the M3, Audi introduced this car to the world, and boy did it change the way we looked at mid-range high performance cars. Great performance, lightweight, 4WD, a 6-speed gearbox, a turbo and very rare even when new. They are now ultra rare and very cool. This Audi, finished in bright silver with oxblood leather, is a very original unmolested example.
It still has its factory handbook pack, complete with all the things you get with a new car, and its service book complete with 19 stamps. This is backed up with a collection of receipts and invoices, old tax discs, and older MOTs which sit very nicely with the fresh one carried out on 7th May. This S2 has a full factory repair manual in a large ring binder and a sales brochure from the day, along with correspondence from Audi to its owners though time, some Audi Owner’s Club details and some older V5s detailing ownership details.
In conclusion, we have a great example in a lovely colour combination with a fantastic history that looks amazing and is a very rare find, let alone its performance and handling capabilities. Let’s not forget the part that this Audi played in the history of mid-range sports cars back in the day and beyond.
PLEASE NOTE: This car has been the subject of a speedo change, which is noted in the service book.
